Redwood is an applied research company building autonomous hardware labs.
The next frontier of AI is learning to build in the physical world. That means designing, prototyping, testing, and redesigning a part until it meets the spec. Our software simplifies design and connects it to existing fabrication equipment, putting more work within reach of a small team.
For AI labs, we’re building environments to train and test engineering models. Embodied AI depends on scarce, expensive data from physical work. We’re building pipelines to produce more frontier data and advance vision-language-action models.
We’re seeing a resurgence in hard tech. A few good engineers should be able to build physical products that today take a large company. We want to bring about a new generation of models that do for the physical world what GPT-3 and its successors did for language.
